Arrivals and Departures
A parent / guardian or their representative is responsible for completing the attendance record noting the time the child has been collected and signing the roll sheet. Staff are responsible for signing the child in each afternoon.
NB: Our staff have been advised that only people authorised in writing to collect your child are to do so. Please ensure that you have provided written authorisation to any person who is to collect your child. Only in an emergency will we accept authorisation by phone quoting a password.
Absences
It is essential and a parents responsibility to ring the centre if their child will be absent from the centre on a day they are booked and not our responsibility to telephone to confirm a missing child’s whereabouts. It is not sufficient to advise the school that your child will be absent and an email to Head Office o the day of a non-attendance is not acceptable as the email is not accessed every day 24 hours a day. In an emergency a message can be left on either the centres direct number or Head Office on 02 9984 8089 or 0411 758 064. There is a charge if staff are required to follow up a non-attendance which we haven’t been advised of.
Changes to contact details
It is essential that we are kept informed of any changes to your contact details eg changes in work place and phone numbers, changes of address, changes to those people who you will allow to collect your child from care. You will find at the centre a form for this purpose. Please complete this form and place it in the “accounts/suggestions letterbox” or email it to ooshnb@bigpond.com .
Code of Behaviour
An After School Care Code of Behaviour has been developed to encouraged appropriate behaviour. The code is displayed in the centres and in the sign in/out area. The code outlines five main principles. Under each principle it is outlined ways that these principles can be achieved. If a child in not adhering to the code they may be placed on a daily report card. This agreement is made between the child, parents and staff. The child’s behaviours will be monitored and commented on at the end of the day.
Communication
Parents are encouraged to use the communication book located at the centre to pass on any thoughts, suggestions ideas etc. Also feel free to contact Head Office by email, telephone or facsimile on the numbers provided.
Participate in School Activities
We encourage children to participate in after school activities (dance, band, drama, chess) and there is a permission slip to fill in for this arrangement.
Below is our Parent Handbook which is provided to all our enrolled families. Please read through our comprehensive guide. This handbook is a resource for families to refer to throughout the time your child is in care with OOSH NB. It outlines how the centre operates and provides helpful information to make your child's time at the Kids Club a happy one. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask a staff member.
